What Is the Story of Daniel and the Lions’ Den?
The account appears in Daniel chapter 6. Daniel, a faithful Jewish exile serving under King Darius, continued praying to God three times a day even after a royal decree banned prayer to anyone but the king. Jealous officials reported him. Darius reluctantly ordered Daniel thrown into a den of lions. God sent an angel who shut the lions’ mouths, and Daniel emerged unharmed the next morning. The story highlights courage, consistent prayer, and God’s protection.
