- Standard/college-style (around 7–8 mm) for everyday writing
- Wide (around 9–10 mm or more) for younger writers or larger handwriting

How to Choose and Print Your Free Printable Lined Paper A4?
- Decide on line spacing based on your needs (narrow for notes, wide for kids or large handwriting).
- Prefer light blue or gray lines for a classic notebook look that doesn’t overpower ink.
- Include a left margin if you plan to hole-punch or bind the pages.
- In your printer settings: choose A4 paper size, select “Actual size” or 100% scale (avoid “Fit to page”), and use portrait orientation unless you need landscape.
- Use standard 20–24 lb (75–90 gsm) printer paper for best results. Heavier stock reduces bleed-through with gel pens or markers.
Most US home and office printers handle A4 without issue once the size is correctly selected in both the application and printer driver.
