What Is a Free Printable Fox Mask Template?
A free printable fox mask template is a ready-to-print PDF or image of a fox face. Designs typically include pointed ears, a pointed snout, eye holes, and side holes for string or elastic. Many offer both full-color versions (ready to cut and wear) and black-and-white outlines kids can color themselves. Most fit standard US Letter (8.5 x 11 inch) paper or cardstock and work for children or adults depending on the size.
These templates support fine-motor skills (cutting, coloring), imaginative play, and simple storytelling. Use them for Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox, Aesop’s fables, nature lessons, or just pure fun.

How to Make a Paper Fox Mask (Step-by-Step)?
- Download and open the PDF in a free reader such as Adobe Acrobat.
- Print on US Letter cardstock (preferred) or regular paper. Color the blank version first if desired.
- Cut out the mask outline carefully. Have an adult cut the eye holes for safety.
- Punch small holes on both sides of the mask. Reinforce the area with clear tape so the paper does not tear.
- Thread elastic cord, ribbon, or yarn through the holes and adjust for a snug but comfortable fit.
- Optional: Add whiskers with pipe cleaners, glitter, or a craft-stick handle for a held mask.
Most templates take 10–20 minutes from print to wear.
Practical Tips for Best Results
- Use heavier cardstock (65–110 lb) so the mask holds its shape during play.
- For classroom sets, print multiple copies at once.
- Laminate finished masks for longer-lasting party favors.
- Pair the activity with a short fox fact sheet or a picture book for extra learning value.
- Test the fit before final tying—children’s head sizes vary quickly.
