Free Pot of Gold Printable Template Ideas – Looking for a free pot of gold printable template? These simple outlines and designs make it easy to create St. Patrick’s Day crafts, classroom decorations, coloring pages, and rainbow activities at home or school.
A pot of gold printable template is usually a black-and-white or full-color outline of a classic leprechaun’s pot filled with coins (or left empty so kids can add their own). Most are designed for standard U.S. Letter paper and work well for preschool through elementary ages. They’re popular for March classroom projects, bulletin boards, paper chains, and low-prep holiday fun.
Why Use a Pot of Gold Printable Template?
Parents and teachers in the U.S. reach for these templates because they require almost no prep. Print, cut, color or trace, and glue. They pair naturally with rainbow crafts, shamrock cutouts, writing prompts (“If I found a pot of gold…”), and simple fine-motor practice.
Common uses include:
- Coloring pages
- Cut-and-paste crafts
- Bulletin board displays
- Party decorations or garlands
- Writing templates with lines inside the pot
- Stencils for painting or tracing onto construction paper

Easy Ways to Use Your Pot of Gold Template
- Print on regular paper or cardstock for sturdier crafts.
- Color with crayons, markers, or colored pencils, or leave blank and trace onto black construction paper.
- Cut out the pot and glue on yellow or gold paper circles (or use the free coin templates from the sites above).
- Add a rainbow made from colored paper strips or pipe cleaners leading to the pot.
- Turn it into a writing activity by having kids list what they would do with the gold.
Tip: For classroom sets, print multiple small pots on one page to save paper and time.
Printing Tips for Best Results
Use standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Select “actual size” or 100% scale in your printer settings so the template doesn’t shrink. Cardstock holds up better for cutting and hanging. If the template includes multiple sizes, choose the one that fits your project (large for a centerpiece, small for garlands or table decorations).
